fg microtec and NewStep Networks collaborate on VCC solution featuring interoperability with Nokia handsets

NewStep Networks, Inc., the leader in convergence solutions for carriers and enterprises, and fg microtec, a leading provider of best-of-breed multimedia applications for 2.5G, 3G and WLAN mobile phones, announced today that their joint efforts to enable Nokia handsets to interoperate with NewStep Networks’ CSN solution has led to field trials with major service providers.

fg microtec developed VCC client software to enable various Nokia handsets to provide seamless GSM and VoIP interoperability over WLAN and cellular networks. Fg’s client is presently active in Nokia’s E series smartphones.
