Configuration for 1und1
Hi,
I do have some experience with VoIP with my previous phone Nokia E65. The configuration has been set as listed at the following URL: http://www.gsmfreeboard.com/showthread.p............. With the E65 it is not necessary to install any additional program as 'fgVoIP' for using Internet telephony. The E65 does accept 'sip.1und1.de' as the proxy server and is able to resolve it automatically. Everything is fine with the E65. With my recent Blackberry Bold 9700 'fgVoIP' does not support DNS lookup in its current version. Thus it is mandatory to type a clear IP address. According to http://centralops.net/co/NsLookup.aspx the address 'sip.1und1.de' will be resolved as follows: sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.202 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.204 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.131 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.132 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.134 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.201 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.202 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.18.204 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.131 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.132 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.134 300s (00:05:00) sip.1und1.de IN A 212.227.67.201 300s (00:05:00) I have tried all of those addresses but everytime I got: Not registered. Authentication failed. ![]() What can I do? PS: There is likely no HW problem or such, I could use the preconfigured Default Profile well and did use right away. |

RE: Configuration for 1und1
Thanks for your quick response!
The quoted thread is well known to me, the settings are exactly as listed there. The registrar is in the advanced settings, am I right? Below the advanced settings (copied from the default profile and kept unchanged): SIP Registrar: Registrar Port: 5060 Proxy: 212.227.67.201 Proxy Port: 5060 Local Port: 0 Registration Expiration Time: 3600 RTP Local Port: 0 TRAVERSAL MODE Traversal Mode: Read SIP via MEDIA Codec: PCMU Force Codec: No DTMF type: Out-of-band Use comfort noise generation: Yes Shall I restart the entire program fgVoIP (paranoia??) everytime the settings are changed? Isn't it sufficient to chose 'Login'? . Wow, suddenly it works!! ![]() I have changed the Registration Expiration Time to 36000 ... and everything is fine!!

RE: Configuration for 1und1
Hi there,
just tried to setup fgVoIP on my 9700 also using 1und1 as my sip provider. But I won't get it to register, I just receive the "authentication error". With your test account, registration works seamlessly though. I'd appreciate any help how I could resolve this issue. Thanks in advance (I also uploaded a logfile, unique ID:65721) |

RE: Configuration for 1und1
Thanks for your quick reply!
(04-13-2011 03:24 PM)Ivo Wrote: Authentication error means that client contacted 1und1 server but your SIP ID and password as provided do not mach your account credentials on 1und1. I triple checked the SIP ID and password. I even copied them from my sip providers homepage via cut n paste from the blackberry browser to reassure it's correct. But no luck. (04-13-2011 03:24 PM)Ivo Wrote: Please check in fgVoIP Main Settings and Advanced Settings if you really entered corrcectly My ID and Authentication ID (should be the same ID, as obtained from 1und1) and try to retype the password carefully (low case, upper case, digits, letters), see also: I even changed the password to one without y/z to be sure not to have any problems due to my quertz keyboard on my 9700. Anyway, as this did all not work out for me, I set up an account at pbxes.com (an online sip phone managing site). Using the username and password I obtained from pbxes, I can easily setup the fgVoiP on my 9700! It simply works. So I set up my 1und1 account in pbxes and am now able to access it with my 9700 via pbxes. So phone calls over my 1und1 sip account from my 9700 with fgVoiP actually work now ![]() But then still, this is quite a workaround, and I'm not sure how reliable it is to rerout the calls via pbxes. If you've got any other idea what might stop fgVoip to directly logon to my 1und1 account, I'd be happy to hear from you! Best Regards |
