Take a step ahead in the wireless communication market by offering your customers voice over IP telephony capabilities in
your handsets. fgVoIP is an embedded application, which contains all necessary elements and optimized technology to offer
high-quality and reliable VoIPoW calls for private and corporate users.
fgVoIP can be used for GSM and IP based voice calls seamlessly. Call scenarios may include free calls to any other VoIP
user, calls to the PSTN and also to mobile users through IP carrier connectivity at very low call fees. fgVoIP has been already
successfully tested with major VoIP carriers worldwide, including operation behind firewalls.
Voice Call Continuity (VCC)
Corporate users "on-the-move" will be able to connect to their corporate IP PBX with their cellular handsets in order to reach
any other corporate user or even make calls to any fixed or wireless telephone number as if they were sitting at their office's
desk. When the user leaves the W-Lan coverage area, the call is seamlessly handed off to the GSM network.
User benefits
End users can benefit from making phone calls to other VoIP clients or to fixed and mobile telephone numbers located in the
PSTN and PLMN, respectively, at very low fees using international VoIP carriers and gateways to public telephone networks.
Corporate users are able to connect to their home IP PBX from anywhere in the world and use all its features and functionalities
as if they were sitting at their own desk inside the corporate network.
How does it work?
fgVoIP is based on open standards currently widely deployed for IP multimedia communication. On the control plane, the Session
Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Session Description Protocol (SDP) carry the necessary information for registration, access control, session
setup, session control, capabilities exchange and session termination.
On the user plane, the Real Time Protocol (RTP) and Real Time
Control Protocol (RTCP) are used for encapsulation and transmission of the voice frames over the packet network.

When connected to the WLAN network, a special icon will be displayed on the screen. The user will know that the next call will be connected
automatically thru a VoIP carrier or to his corporate network. Incoming calls can also be delivered to the user through this connection.
In order to provide an enhanced user experience and higher QoS, the media flow is optimized in terms of framing, buffering and codec
transmission according to fg microtec's QoS mechanisms and expertise in VoIP and wireless real-time embedded applications such as
Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) and Instant Messaging.
